Standing Orders of The Whippet
Association of Victoria Inc.

1. Championship Show to be held at the time of the Melbourne Royal Show when
possible.
2. All Office bearers of the Whippet Association of Victoria may exhibit and handle at
Club Shows, including the President and Secretary.
3. Breed classes at the Championship Show to be judged by a Whippet Specialist who has
preferably not judged in Australia before, or for at least five years.
4. Special classes at the Championship Show to be judged by a Whippet specialist or a
Hound Specialist whenever possible.
5. Club medallions to be awarded to all best of class winners at the Championship Show.
6. Club trophies & perpetual trophies to remain in the care of the Trophy Steward.

7. The Open Show to be judged, if possible, by a Trainee judge who has judged at least
one Whippet Member's Competition or has experience in Whippets and has attended a
Whippet breed lecture.
8. The Annual General Meeting to be held in the month of February each year.
9. A breeder may provide the puppy officer with full details of the litter including DOB,
Sire, Dam, number of puppies available, microchip numbers, colours & picture, if possible,
which will be put into the Association’s website. This service is FREE to all
members on the proviso that the member complies strictly with standing order numbers
10 & 11.

10. A person must be a member of the Association for a period of eighteen months,
continuously, before a litter will be advertised with the Association.

11. If a person’s membership has lapsed past a period of 3 (three) months they shall be
deemed no longer a member of the Association and therefore will need to be re-
nominated.

12. A single year membership to be available to member/breeder for new puppy buyers
at a cost of $10.00

13. A special annual trophy of some substance for Best Puppy in Show at the
Championship Show each year shall be provided by the Whippet Association of Victoria
Inc in memory of Graham Head. This trophy to be engraved or etched "The Graham Head
Trophy for Puppy in Show"

14. The Whippet Association will donate a sash for the Challenge Dog & Challenge Bitch
at the Melbourne Royal Show.
15. A rosette will be provided by Byerley Whippets each year for the winner of the Ch
Airescot Chaconne (Imp Nwy) Trophy for most successful sire at the Whippet Association’s
Championship Show.

16. A sash will be provided by the Association each year for the winner of the Dot Stewart
perpetual trophy for Breeder of Best in Show at the Championship Show.
